The annual Retail Smarter Conference brings together a diverse group of retail and industry participants for two days of speakers, panels, roundtables and networking. The executives candidly share information and new ideas that are working to keep their organizations ahead of their competition. This year, Dan Doyle, CHRO of Bealls and Florida Retail Federation Chairman, had the honor of presenting the Retailer of the Year award to Hub City Smokehouse & Grill's Michael Carroll. Magda Wyko, Director of Talent & Development, advocated on the importance of an internship. The 2017 Bealls Interns were in attendance and had the opportunity to listen to the Retail Industry's leaders and executives.

Bealls would like to WELCOME OUR 2017 SUMMER INTERNS!

After a competitive recruitment process TWELVE students joined Bealls Corporate, FOUR students joined Bealls Stores and FOURTEEN students joined Bealls/Burkes Outlet Stores to embark on a 10-week journey. These interns will receive a realistic job preview into key positions within our corporate headquarters and store operations teams. Throughout the experience, each intern will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a mentor, learn about corporate/store operations, engage with Bealls employees and leaders, focus on development and begin leading a business. In addition, these interns will have the opportunity for further development by attending weekly education programs as well as working on a group project that will address a solution to an operational issue, which they will then present to the leadership team at the end of the program. The Bealls internship program will provide each intern insight into the world of retail, while allowing them to tackle real issues using problem solving skills, engage in the innovation process, network with peers, participate in team collaboration and encompass the totality of the Bealls company culture. A WARM thank you to the MENTORS, who have invested the next 10 weeks to these interns. We have no doubt that 2017 will be the BEST year yet!
